Excellence in mental health support

Our History

In the early 90’s, a group of caring, concerned mental health consumers and advocates took a stand against the stigma of mental illness which causes many consumers to isolate themselves and endure repeated hospitalizations. Read more about the inspiration, hard work and determination that led to Choices becoming the social center it is today.

Three Original Goals

Three primary goals determined by our founding advocates and members still remain our “north star” almost 30 years later.

  • Encourage socialization and fun

  • Build self-esteem and confidence

  • Provide opportunities to develop job skills and employment

Peer Run Organization

Choices thrives because of the volunteer efforts of the members utilizing the center.

Our staff assists and encourages members to become more independent while realizing their talents, improving self-esteem and benefitting the center.

Because of the dedication of our members and staff, Choices continues to be a beautiful place to assist consumers in their recovery.
